1	Labial palpus with terminal segment as long as second. Forewing with first dark fascia projecting inwardly on third lobe *Alucita hexadactyla*
	13.0-17.0mm. Throughout the year. Forewing ochreous grey; fore- and hindwing with two dark fasciae.
-	Labial palpus with terminal segment approximately half length of second. Forewing with first dark fascia not projecting inwardly on third lobe *A. grammodactyla*
	14.0-15.0mm. May June and August. Forewing grey; fore- and hindwing with two fasciae, hardly contrasting with ground colour.
